Abstract

Proficiency in English is integral in today’s globalized landscape, serving as a crucial tool for international communication, career advancement, and accessing a wealth of information and educational resources. This is why more and more people need to learn English, go to class and take exams in order to certify their level, which is the case in the Official Schools of Languages (EOI) and their Certificate Exams (Pruebas Unificadas de Certificación (PUC)). However, challenges arise in preparatory courses due to large class sizes the fact that written expression tends to be the skill with lower results. Thus, there is a need to find a way to stay closer to our students, fresh techniques for feedback, new methodologies in language teaching-learning and insights for self-regulation. This is a reality and technology provides us with tools to bridge the gap, creating a dynamic task-based project, which not only will it help with personalized feedback but also with showing a comprehensive view of linguistic development and a valuable tool for self-assessment. This project presents Canva as an alternative to create a digital magazine which will delve into writing skills for B1 English students in EOI. With its pre-tasks, main tasks and live feedback, this project will fosters progress awareness, confidence, motivation, and long-term commitment.
